“My name is Morgan Peterson and I am beyond excited to be receiving the Alana Cope Eaton Scholarship! Piano has been so important to me for my whole life. I have taken private lessons, done Solo and Ensemble festivals, Jazz Band, and I'm ready to see where it takes me next. It gives me the opportunity to apply my skills to other areas such as choir and percussion, as well as the opportunity to constantly improve, express myself, and connect with others. I plan on continuing piano for the rest of my life, it's so much fun and so special to me!”
This $500 scholarship is awarded each year based on the applicant’s involvement in piano, a recorded performance, and a brief essay. This short essay invites students to reflect on piano has influenced their lives and how they will be involved in piano going forward. The application process opens each spring and applicants are invited to apply at www.utahmusicfoundation.org.
